Kwanzaa 2015
December 27, 2015 @ 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
£5.00Tens of thousands of people celebrate Kwanzaa across the world and it has become a firm tradition in the calendars of African families in the UK. Kwanzaa lasts for 7 days starting on 26th December with the final day being celebrated on 1st January.
Kwanzaa was created to introduce and reinforce seven basic values of African culture which contribute to building and reinforcing family, community and culture among African American people as well as Africans throughout the world African community.
These values are called the Nguzo Saba which in Swahili means the Seven Principles. Developed by Dr Maulana Karenga, the Nguzo Saba stand at the heart of the origin and meaning of Kwanzaa, for it is these values which are not only the building blocks for community but also serve to reinforce and enhance them.
This year, we have even more planned and would like you to come and celebrate Kwanzaa with us.
Thanks for reading, please share this page with other members of the community too so that we can reach as many people as possible.
